Distinguished by a rhythmic cartouche of scrolling acanthus leaves, this richly hued botanical pays homage to one of Archibald Knox’s earliest textile designs for the Silver Studio, dating back to around 1897. Hand drawn on dark paper with soft chalk pastels, Midnight Canopy exhibits an almost ethereal quality. The intense jewel tones contrast beautifully against the dark background, enhancing the artwork’s contours with a radiant glow.
